Children’s Sermon – God’s Family

Children’s Sermon God’s Family

Lesson Objective:  The children will realize that they are important to God and are a part of God’s Family.

Scripture – Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

 God’s Family – Children’s Sermon

Materials:  A camera or iPad and a photo album.  An added touch is adding both old and new photographs in the album.

Ask the children to come to the front of the church.

Have the children gather around you and share with them the photo album. Go into detail showing some of the pictures and telling about the people in the pictures. Ask the children if their parents have an album at home with family pictures in it?

Tell the children that just like our family on earth, we are a part of God’s family in heaven. God loves each one of us and is proud of us. He wants us to always be part of His loving family and wants to brag on us each and every day. God knows what we look like, and watches with pride as we grow up. It’s like God keeps a photo album of us because we are His children.

Take a photo of the group of children and show them the picture on the camera display. Tell them that God is smiling on them today and that this picture just might be in His album.

Prayer:

Dear God: Thank you for having my picture in Your family album. May I always return the love You show me. I am happy to be part of God’s Family.  Amen
