Children’s Sermon Psalm 145:9 – God Love Everyone
Objective: To show children that God teaches us to be kind to everyone, even when it’s hard.
Scripture: The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
Materials: A picture of the teacher of this lesson with someone that is not always easy to love all the time, like a younger sibling or cousin.
Good morning, everyone! It’s so good to see you! You know, I always love seeing you on Sunday mornings. It’s just so nice to be around you!
You know, there are a lot of people that I love to be around, but there are a few people that sometimes get on my nerves, just a little bit.
(Take out the picture. The next part will need to be edited depending on who is talking)
Can you all see this picture? Who do you see?
Kids! Yes! Two kids.
And that one right there, the one with the green shirt? That’s me! Can’t you see the resemblance? No? Okay, well you’ll just have to trust me.
Now, right next to me, in this picture, is my little sister. Her name is (insert name here) and I love her very, very much. But you know what?
When we were growing up, she used to do things that would drive me crazy! She used to take my favorite stuffed animal and hide it… she would pinch me on the arm so hard! And she had his loud scream that just gave me a headache!
She’s my sister, and I love her. But it’s not always easy. And sometimes, it was really hard to be kind to her!
Do you have anyone in your life like that? Someone who just gets on your nerves a little bit?
Sometimes, it can be hard to be kind to someone who makes you feel mad, or annoyed. It would be so much easier to try to make them mad, wouldn’t it? To annoy them right back? But God teaches us that he has a different plan for us.
In the book of Psalms in the Bible, it says that the LORD is good to all.
He asks us to be kind to everyone, even when it’s hard. And He also tells us that he’ll give us all the love we need.
Let’s pray right now, and ask God to give us love for the people in our lives who are hard to love.
God, thank you for being a God who loves us all the time. Please help us to show love to others, too, even when it’s hard. Thank you for always being with us, wherever we go. Help us to remember that God loves everyone. Amen.
