Scripture: Luke 12:7 “Even the hairs on your head are all numbered.”
Materials: A small collection of football/baseball/basketball cards.
Good morning, boys and girls! Do you see what I have in my hands? This is something that is very important and precious to me. It’s my collection of baseball cards!
My collection is so special to me. I have had it for a long time, and it’s very valuable. It’s so valuable, that from time to time, I count all of my cards to make sure they are still there. Would you like to count them with me?
1… 2… 3… 4… 5. Good! They are all still there!
Did you notice that while I counted them, I inspected them, too? I looked at all their edges and made sure they didn’t have any bends or marks. I want to keep them safe and in good shape, because that’s how valuable they are to me.
Now, my basketball cards are really special, but you know what is even more special?
You are! You are so valuable to Jesus.
You’re so valuable to him, that he tells us in the book of Luke (12:7) that he even keeps track of all of the hairs on your head! Can you imagine? God counting all of your hairs, and making sure they are all in place? He must love you very very much to do that.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that God cares about us so much? Let’s pray, and thank him for being such a wonderful caretaker.
